About-Personal

Hey!

I’m Jessica

I’m an entrepreneur, an author, and a relentless optimist who believes that understanding behavior can change the world. I also believe that human behavior is cool and that not understanding the power of human behavior is like not understanding gravity—it can be costly and painful.

struggle

I know all of this because I’ve struggled. A lot. I’ve struggled to find and fulfill my purpose. I’ve had major life and career upsets and failures. I have messed up relationships, both personally and professionally, and---I don’t mind telling you, even though society says I should be embarrassed, I have struggled with major depression and anxiety

But, I am still an relentless optimist. Through every setback and failure, I have learned about myself and the people around me. In the process I’ve learned to read my environment and really understand how my role in the world and how I can take advantage of my individual strengths to be my best self. I don’t mind telling you, even though society says I shouldn’t brag, that I have learned to be resilient and to keep on keeping on.

learning
opportunities

Professionally I am a board-certified behavior analyst, an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist and a serial business builder. I have built four successful businesses, which means I spent a lot of years paying myself with passion and believing in the hope of the future, but it also means that I’ve had lots of opportunity to practice skills that have helped me grow through my struggles.

Personally, I’ve raised four children—all boys, and they have had struggles too—everything from autism and ADHD to severe depression and anxiety and all the in between struggles of just learning how to be a human. Walking the path of helping others learn to be their best self is a fabulous teacher and I hope to get to be a student in the classroom for always.

growing
world

For me, the pursuit of my best life begins and ends with human behavior. Every minute is an opportunity to learn how I interact with the world and how the world interacts with me and what I can do to make changes those two elements to make sure I am getting everything I want out of this one, beautiful, crazy, precious life.

Every minute of every day we get to choose how we are going to engage. And if it doesn’t work how we want, we get the opportunity to change it. Maybe that’s why I am such a relentless optimist---because I always have the opportunity to keep getting better.
